Who We Are
Bluebird Theatre Company was founded out of the Atlantic Theater Company Professional Conservatory class of 2019. Since then, we have grown register as a New York 501(c)(c) non-profit organization, operating internationally. Bluebirds hail from all corners of the globe including the U.S., Australia, Zimbabwe, Russia, France, Israel, Italy, the UK, and Portugal.
We share an intense and joyful work ethic. We champion honesty and respect within the ensemble. We are ferociously brave, unwaveringly authentic, and unquenchably curious.
Why We’re Bluebird
The Bluebird is described as a symbol of spiritual awakening, transformation and joy. It is considered a good omen if you encounter one and is also associated with hard work, unassuming confidence and modesty.
Powerful messengers from the spirit realm, it is said that the arrival of a Bluebird comes just before a transformation or change that brings hope.
At it’s best, theatre challenges society’s perceptions. It encourages it’s audiences to dig deeper into their souls, to ask more questions and to never settle. It represents hope. Hope for a better world, a kinder world. One where we are all capable of change.
We are called Bluebirds because we believe that, even in the darkest of stories, we are all capable of finding hope.
